UFV Welcomes TETFund Representative for Meetings with Scholarship Holders and the DRI Team

The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) welcomed, on January 30 and February 2, 2026, the visit of Mr. Turaki Ibrahim Khalil, representative of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), the Nigerian agency responsible for funding postgraduate scholarships abroad for Nigerian citizens.

During the visit, meetings were held with TETFund scholarship holders with active affiliation to UFV, including master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral researchers. The aim was to monitor academic progress, hear about the researchers’ experiences, and strengthen institutional dialogue between the funding agency and the host university.

Scholarship holders who participated in the meeting

  • Abdulrahman Ndagi – Master’s in Agricultural Engineering
  • Baiyeri Samuel Olorunfemi – Postdoctoral Research in Crop Science
  • Ekerette Ekerette Emmanuel – Postdoctoral Research in Animal Science
  • Japhet Bolouinbele Yeigba – PhD in Animal Science
  • Kolo Hyacinth Ndabatsado – PhD in Veterinary Medicine
  • Ortil Msugh – PhD in Computer Science

In addition to the meeting with the scholarship holders, Mr. Turaki Ibrahim Khalil met with the team of the Office of International Affairs (DRI) and with its Director, Vladimir Di Iorio. On this occasion, the outcomes of the ongoing cooperation and the academic follow-up of the scholarship holders were discussed.

The visit reinforces UFV’s role as a host institution committed to excellence in the training of international researchers, as well as the importance of cooperation with TETFund within the framework of the internationalization of graduate education and scientific research.
