Nigerian Community in Viçosa inaugurates new board during ceremony at UFV

On Monday, July 7th, the Nigerian Community in Viçosa (NCV) held the inauguration ceremony of its newly elected executive board for the 2025–2027 term. The event took place at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and marked the beginning of a new leadership committed to strengthening community ties and promoting greater cultural and academic integration between the Nigerian community and the local society.

The new executive board is composed of:

• Kamaldeen A. Yusuf – President
• Japhet B. Yeigba – Vice president
• Blessing O. Ukatu – General Secretary
• Abiodun I. Khadijat – Financial Secretary
• Moruf A. Adeagbo – Public Relations Officer
• Olajumoke G. Oyedoyin – Sports Secretary

During the ceremony, the newly appointed leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the values of unity, respect, and collaboration.

Representatives from UFV’s Office of International Affairs, Professor Vladimir Di Iorio and Elisa Müller, and Professor Evandro Melo, Kamaldeen’s advisor, were also present, reinforcing the ties of cooperation between the institution and the foreign communities living in Viçosa.
